About Your Dentist

Hello! I am a graduate of the University of Louisville Dental School and a long time resident of the Louisville area. I moved here 24 years ago and upon finishing my education, decided that this was where I wanted to raise my family. I live in North Oldham county with my husband and two college age kids. In my free time I enjoy cooking, gardening and traveling with my family. The care, comfort and well-being of my patients are my top priorities and hallmarks of the Dorsey Family Dental practice. Working with Dr. Tina Lefta and the entire staff is a great pleasure. The cooperative and professional nature of the entire team helps further the excellent care we promise our patients.

Hello future patient, I'm  Dr. Tina Lefta! Welcome and thank you very much for taking the time to read about me. I truly enjoy practicing dentistry, being a mom to my amazing children, a wife, daughter, sister, and friend.  Finding that life-work balance has been a welcomed challenge these past few years. I am beyond grateful for all the blessings I have been showered with in my personal and professional life. I am surrounded by an incredible team that I am proud to call my work family.

I completed my undergraduate degrees in Biology and Spanish at Eastern Kentucky University (Richmond, KY) where I graduated with high honors. I graduated from Dental School as well as Residency in General Dentistry at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (Lexington, KY) with distinction. Training in Sedation Dentistry, implant placement, and treatment of medically compromised patients, were among the highlights of my residency program. My training did not end after the dental residency. Each year I participate in numerous Continuing Education Courses to be certain I can offer my patients the most up-to-date dental procedures using the most effective methods and best materials available in our field. I am fully credentialed and licensed to practice General Dentistry in the state of Kentucky.  I am certified to Perform Chao PINHOLE® Surgical Technique to restore receding gums as well as Bioclear technique to offer patients a more youthful smile. Dr. Lefta earned her fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) which represents her commitment to lifelong education in order to ensure delivery of the highest quality dental care to her patients.

In my career as a dentist, I have had the opportunity to treat patients of all ages in a variety of dental settings. I’m grateful for the many experiences I have had, as each has helped to shape me into the clinician I am today.
